Hello and welcome to the Kingsbury Water Park Model Boat Club  web site.

We are constantly developing the site, making changes and updating it, so please revisit us again to see our activities.

We are a dedicated group of model boat enthusiasts interested in all forms of this hobby, yachts, fast electrics, nitro, tethered hydroplane, scale boats, and steam. In fact you name it and we'll sail it.

We have been based at Kingsbury Water Park since 1975 and have our own dedicated modelling lake.

So if you are interested in knowing more please come and see us at the pond or
email us by clicking here

If you wish to become a member please also contact the secretary for more details (see link above)

Thank you for taking the time to visit us and we look forward to you visiting us again.
If you come to visit us at the pool we ask that you stay behind the fence in case of accidents thank you.

Hi all

We will be holding this event on Sunday 26th July 2015 at King Lears Lake, Watermead County Park, Near Wanlip, Leicestershire, LE7 1PD.   Please see their website for more details:-

All Boaters are most welcome for this informal and fun event.  We have a jetty and slipway for ease of access to our lake so please bring your boats along for a sail.  Vintage RC models and static models are all welcome.  There is ample parking and picnic facilities.   There is a 2.50 entrance fee payable to an unmanned machine, so having the correct change is required.   There is an ice cream van and occasionally a refreshments facility on site but we are hoping to have a BBQ and have hot drinks available on the day if enough interest is shown.  For up to date information please visit our website

You can also contact us via email at

We can run Sail, Steam, Electric, Scale and IC models.  All IC models must be 80 db or lower, racing boats are not permitted (i.e.: multi boats).

All proceeds of the day with by donated to Prostrate Cancer Research in memory of one of our founder members Terry Watson.

Please see the attached for more information.

I think that is all but if you require any more information or require clarification then please do not hesitate to contact me.

All KWPMBC Members,

The Model Engineering Exhibition Warwickshire
Fosse Way Leamington
Thursday 15th - Sunday 18th October 2015

We have a booked stand at this exhibition as in previous years, measuring 26ft x 4ft

This needs filling with members boats, so I ask for those interested in displaying their creations to contact me or our Chairman Mark, if you wish to exhibit.

Usually, there are upto 18 boats displayed, of a variety to show the breadth of model making inc. steam plant. The size of the model is important to work out fitting them in.

Set up day is Wednesday 14th afternoon, when models are set out.

We are limited on numbers, so I will have to choose, although, in past years no one has been turned away.

It is a large exhibition with plenty of trade stands and free admission on one day and the Sunday if you have model on display.

Please let us know if you wish to attend, with details of model.

Thursday 11th December is our annual AGM Starting 8pm Prompt

It has come to our notice that there is a little confusion to Sunday afternoon sailing.

Sunday afternoon is for ANYONE to sail anything BUT mostly IC boats are on then and it is at owners risk to put any other type of boat on

when IC boats are running, this does not mean you can't just be aware they run hard and fast and if they hit you it will mean damage I normally run my boats to one side when they are on

with no damage to my boats :-)

I hope you are all in good health and have not grown webbed feet.
Just to keep you all up to date.
We now have a confirmed date of Saturday 18th October
for the National Laser Association TT Event
at Kingsmill Model Boat Club Mansfield Notts.
There is also free sailing during the event for none competitors to sail as normal.

Best regards, Mick Sanders(KMBC events)
