We are sorry but due to health and safety concerns from our insurance
broker we have to ask all visitors to the pond to stay behind the fence in case of
accidents. If you would like to see any of the boats just ask and the
owners will be glad to show you.

Thursday 12th December is our annual AGM Starting 8pm
We would like to formally
invite all model boat club members to an open day
taking place on the
14th of July 2013.
The day will begin at 10am and
finish around 5pm on the night. All model boat clubs
and boating traders are welcome to attend – though I
would appreciate a response so I can ensure smooth
running on the day. All types of model boats are
welcome; scale, fast electric, IC’s, Offshore,
Yachts, Hydro, Warships, Steam powered, Sails, Tugs
and whatever else you could have possibly built!
The club is accessible to
disabled members and is an ideal family environment.
When you enter the park you will drive past the café
and information centre which is beside our newly
built locomotive train ride! The children’s park has
just been rebuilt lakeside so please do not hesitate
to bring your family along. The water park itself
contains hidden nature trails for you to explore the
other lakes we are home too – if you need help I
will happily point you in the right direction!

King Lear Model Boat Club
I would like to invite you and your club
members to the East Midlands Lifeboat which King Lear Model Boat
Club will be holding at King Lears Lake, Watermead Country Park,
Near Wanlip, Leicestershire, LE7 1PD in 2013.
This event will be taking place on on
Sunday 16th June 2013 starting at around 10:00am. All
Lifeboaters are welcome for an informal and friendly event where
likeminded owners of model Lifeboats can get together for a free
There are toilet facilities in the Country
Park but no catering or café except for an ice cream van, so
bringing your own lunch is recommended. There are however two
pubs within two miles of the Country park where ‘pub grub’ is
There is a £2.50 fee to enter the country
park, so the correct change will be required when you arrive.
