Calypso - Jacques Cousteau's Oceanographic Vessel
(Built by Peter Ireland)

Kit built by myself from Billings boats,
Overall length 37",
Twin screws independently controlled,
All cabin, mastheads, navigation lights working,
Rotating helicopter blades and diving saucer crane turning.
Calypso was built in Seattle for the Royal Navy in 1942 and after the war was sold for use as a car ferry between
Gozo and Valleta until 1950 when Captain Jacques Cousteau of the French Navy bought it for his research vessel.
